Salary:

ZAR250000 - ZAR350000 PA

Role details:

My client based in Jet Park is looking for a Training & Development Officer to join their team

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Facilitates and conduct the organisation SHE Training Program/s.
  • Evaluate Training and Development programmes with regard to return in investments
  • Develop an overall training plan and supporting materials
  • Build and maintain a training database in support of providing employees the opportunity for continued and/or self-driven relevant education and training
  • Accurately compile monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc training and development reports.
  • Provide training in a variety of settings, including classrooms and on-site facilities.
  • Ensures consistent adherence to ethical standards, organisational values, and the provision of equal opportunities
  • Enforces compliance to standard operating procedures, contractual agreements and safety guidelines, and deal with non-conformance when required
  • Builds a spirit of teamwork, adopt practices that capitalise on the value of diversity, and which show appropriate, genuine consideration and support for others.
  • Demonstrates receptiveness and support for new ideas and change initiatives by adopting an appropriate attitude and taking action to ensure effective implementation.
  • Accepting and tackling demanding goals, working longer hours when necessary and identifying opportunities for progressing to more challenging roles.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • National Diploma in Safety Management Compulsory
  • OHSAS 18000-1
  • ISO 14000
  • ISO 9000
  • NEBOSH
  • SAMTRAC / NEBOSH
  • SHEQ Auditors (Accredited as an auditor)
  • Comprehension of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Other related Health & Safety Legislation

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-10 years’ experience working within an Occupational Health, Safety / Risk Management environment of which at least 2years should have been spent as a Training Officer and/or health and safety officers in the Construction Industry
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Construction Industry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulations
  • Relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
  • SHEQ management, practices, procedures and processes
  • Understanding of strategic, functional, operational and technical risks
  • Fire Protection knowledge
  • Auditing techniques and methodologies
  • Problem solving
  • Project management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Be in possession of (Code B) Drivers licence and be competent and prepared to drive such a vehicle
