Metallurgist Superintendent

Our Client is currently seeking a Metallurgical Superintendent to join their team.  The successful Candidate will be responsible for the overseeing of all metallurgical activities at the mine.

Skills / Edu / Exp

• A Tertiary Qualification in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years working in SX / EW & have a sound technical knowledge of these unit operations
• A Minimum of 8 years metallurgical experience of which at least 3 has been at senior management level

Duties

• Responsible for maintaining environmental and safety standards
• Provide input in plant improvements
• Ensure optimal recovery of metal
• Responsible for optimal recoveries and plant availability
• Liaise with mining department regarding ore types, blending and scheduling
• Review plant design, scope necessary upgrades or expansions necessary to beneficiate the plant, determine pay-back and develop justification for expenditure as needed
• Evaluating process performance to identify and initiate development opportunities
• Report back on project activities, budgets and completion dates.
• Oversee implementation of the plant upgrade projects from a metallurgical perspective
• Performing HAZOPs on design changes and incorporation of measures to minimize the risk to equipment and people.
