You will be assigned to the Integrity Engineering Group in the Kearl Oil Sands Operations Technical Department. This centrally located department provides technical expertise in all disciplines pertaining to the design and ongoing operation of surface facilities to the Kearl Oil Sands operations of Imperial Oil.

As an Inspector in Integrity Engineering, you will provide guidance and leadership to pressure equipment inspection programs in support of oil and gas operations.

Based at the Kearl Lake Oil Sands operation north of Fort McMurray, you will begin the assignment in Calgary and transition to a 10 & 10 rotation. Your work will require close collaboration with operating and maintenance staff to support and conduct inspection programs. You will prepare inspection plans and coordinate inspection work performed by contractors. 

• Develop inspection strategies and programs for oil sands facility pressure equipment (vessels, tanks, safety valves and piping)
• Ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements for pressure equipment.
• Support facility turnaround planning and inspection program execution
• Provide oversight and quality acceptance of contractor inspections
• Develop repair procedures (vessels, tanks)
• Review quality control documentation from repair contractors

Special Requirements
-5 to 15 years experience in oil and gas industry
-Technologist Diploma designation with specialty in materials or mechanical disciplines or Certified Steam Engineer-Certified in two or more of the following:
API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection
API 570 Piping
API 653 Tanks
ABSA Alberta In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspector
API 572 Details on specific pressure vessel equipment
API 576 PRV'sNACE training would also benefit
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
