• The [Company] is seeking an individual to work full time in their Maintenance Department. This is a 1 million tonne slag cement manufacturing facility.

Position Summary 

• To perform predictive, preventative, emergency, routine and non-routine maintenance work on plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner.  Work is to be performed in a timely manner to allow for maintenance activities and production requirements.  Assists the plant in maximizing equipment reliability at minimum maintenance cost.  To continuously improve overall plant operations in order to maximize production, meet plant demands, and minimize operating costs.
• This position is part of a weekday and weekend coverage call out program/rotation and requires membership in the United Steelworkers Union No. 9477

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and timely repairs of all plant equipment as expressed above.
• Perform troubleshooting, analysis of all findings, reporting of inconsistencies/trends, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide technical support for plant activities / maintenance functions.
• Coach / Mentor plant employees.
• Communicate all maintenance findings up and down the chain of command recommending appropriate actions.
• Gain and utilize technical skills relative to plant equipment operation along with internal assemblies of the various components
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (understanding ladder logic with ability to understand system processes from the logic).
• Set up and program VFD controllers.

Skill Requirements

• Safety First - Problem Diagnosis and Troubleshooting - Excellent Communication - Set of Tools Required - Computer skills in CMMS (Maximo preferred)

Educational Qualification Profile:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an industrial maintenance electrician or related field
• 2 Yr. Associates or Technology degree in relevant discipline (Instrumentation, PLC, Medium Voltage or Licensed Electrician Status with significant practical experience)
