This privately owned and operated engineering firm has continued to grow since starting out as a fabrication company in the 1990’s. Employing over 60 people, with offices throughout Queensland, they have been involved of late in some iconic projects such as the Hale Street Bridge, and Virgin Blue hangars, as well as various other bridges, shopping centre redevelopments and high rise buildings.
The company has offices in Brisbane and Townsville. Their new Townsville office requires an experienced individual to manage North Queensland projects whilst monitoring the day to day operations of the office and warehouse. Local experience and contacts will be an advantage as well as a previous track record of running a similar business.
Reporting the Managing Director, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Business Development
- Implementing OH&S Procedures
- Overseeing the project lifecycle from fabrication through to erection
- Liaising with councils, clients & governing bodies to deliver projects in the mining and materials handling business.
This is a unique opportunity to help develop the company’s capabilities into the mining and civil construction industries in North Queensland. This is a role with genuine autonomy, support will be supplied from Brisbane team of experienced business professionals with over 20 years experience.
The ideal applicant will have prior experience in a fabrication workshop and/or working on materials handling projects for a fabrication business as a project manager. We will also be interested in senior mechanical project engineers with large project experience. The successful applicant must have tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering.
