Description and Desired Qualifications
- Be part of world-class technical teams delivering mine development and reclamation projects. Our Mining Hydrologist jobs are your opportunity to help our clients manage their water resources and restore environmentally impaired sites for economic use. Each day, you will support mine closure/remediation projects in addition to mine water management projects for active and expanding operations, utilizing your understanding of mining hydrology and hydrogeology. You should be a self-motivated, team-focused individual with a minimum BS or MS degree in Hydrogeology, Hydrology or Civil Engineering; have a successful 10-25 year track record with a focus on mining projects; and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each mining assignment.
Our Mining Hydrologists and Hydrogeologists:
- Provide broad-based technical expertise in mine water management, including integration of both surface water and groundwater resources
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures for hydrologic analysis; including leading the development and application of mine water management models
- Plan, execute and manage tasks for mining projects involving field investigations, feasibility studies, design, and permitting
- Support projects for both industrial and government clients
- Understand regulatory requirements related to water resources and interface effectively with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients
- Lead and support safety programs and procedures
- Complete tasks within schedule and budget constraints
- Task lead and/or support the preparation of technical reports
- Assist in market development efforts
- Interact with a broad variety of clients and multi-disciplinary CH2M HILL project teams across multiple geographies
- Maintain professional licensure, as appropriate
- [Company] will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B visa, etc.) to fill this position. Location is flexible with a preference for the Mountain West. Travel is anticipated to be 15%.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum BS degree in Hydrogeology, Hydrology or Civil Engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, including managing tasks
- Strong understanding of mine operations and accepted mine water management practices for surface water and groundwater
- Experience with mine water management modeling software, such as GOLDSIM, as well as hydrologic and hydrogeologic models
- HAZWOPER and/or MSHA certification or ability to obtain
- General project management/project delivery experience for mining environmental projects
