Mechanical Designer/ Drafter

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Preparation of drawing of specific mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, detailed pipe routing and pipe support drawings
• Preparation of mechanical equipment lists and specification sections.
• Knowledge of and obeying project or departmental standards
• Taking direction and instructions from the Mechanical Engineer associated with such designs
• Identifying cost effective solutions to design problems
• Assisting in creating and submitting progress and technical reports
• Modifying existing techniques and procedures;
• Calculating quantities of materials, load capacities, strength stresses
• Using established formulas or manuals

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the design, fabrication, installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment used in mining/industrial/oil & gas industries
• Expertise using AutoCAD 2011
• Certified Mechanical Engineering Technologist with CTTAM (Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba) would be beneficial
