Qualified Auto-Electricians

• International Manufacturer and supplier of Mining Equipment has an outstanding positions available for Auto Electricians. Only South African citizens, who are suitably qualified, live in the applicable area and meet the requirements of the position are eligible to apply for this vacancy.
• This successful Mining Corporation dealing in all types of mining requires Auto-Electricians to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain all electronic vehicle systems used in all aspects of mining.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate or N3 qualification
• Qualified Trade Tested Auto Electrician
• Fitness certificate (red ticket)
• Must be computer literate
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 5 years mining experience
• At least 3 years experience on related earth-moving equipment
• Do all electrical maintenance and repair work on the related equipment as per the Service contract, including any other equipment as would be required to maintain in the area
• Do the maintenance and repair work in such a manner so as to maximize the availability of the equipment
• Do the above maintenance and repairs to the highest standard and ensure that the standard is as per the related maintenance schedule.
• Assist with compilation of maintenance reports which are to be utilised when maintaining the equipment and ensure that these reports are utilised during maintenance
• Report any deviances to the Foreman timeously so that appropriate action can be taken
• Ensure that the required parts, tools and special tools are available during the services and repairs as planned, so that the repair and maintenance work can be done in the shortest possible time
• Comply with legal environmental health and safety regulations
• Ensure that the required tools are and special tools are safe to work with, are not lost or stolen and are maintained in a good and safe to use condition.
• Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained to reflect a positive perspective of the company
• Perform any other reasonable task assigned by their Foreman or Manager
• Advanced Technical insight into Earthmoving Equipment
• Identify the type of repair to be done
• Read wiring diagrams to plan layout of wiring systems
• Carry out electrical fitting, high voltage switching and electronics
• Work with computer-controlled engine management and other systems
• Test, recondition and replace faulty alternators, generators, starter motors, and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries
• Install electrical equipment and electrically operated accessories use meters, test instruments and circuit diagrams to find electrical faults
• Install insulated cables and connect switches, outlets and other fittings
