Are you our next Sr. Environmental Specialist –Water Compliance Coordinator?
- We are currently seeking a Sr. Environmental Specialist –Water Compliance Coordinator for our FishHawk, FL location. The Sr. Environmental Specialist –Water Compliance Coordinator is responsible for environmental compliance, permitting, education and stewardship for multiple Mosaic facilities within the Phosphate Business Unit. They provide primary evaluation of water consumption/groundwater elevation data and determine compliance with permit conditions. They also provide oversight/management of various water related permitting efforts and stewardship programs. The Sr. Environmental Specialist –Water Compliance Coordinator advises management/business unit stakeholders on compliance related initiatives and coordinates facility level environmental improvement. They submit reports and correspondence related to applicable regulatory/agreement related requirements. They also interpret regulatory language and determine applicability as well as negotiate requirements with regulatory agencies. The Sr. Environmental Specialist –Water Compliance Coordinator conducts inspections with regulatory agents as required.
What will you do?
- Analyze process and environmental data for compliance and trend evaluations and prepare reports for regulatory agencies, management, community groups and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with environmental requirements (statutes, regulations, permits, licenses, policies and procedures) through evaluation of operations, and develops, coordinates, and implements plans and procedures for use at multiple [Company] locations.
- Manages environmental monitoring and collection, management, and evaluation of data for water quality initiatives and issues.
- Manage environmental aspects of projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and selecting contractors.
- Coordinate permit applications from identifying need for the permit through permit application, agency negotiations, and permit received.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required, major in Hydrology, Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline preferred.
- Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist certification is a plus.
- 7+ years direct experience in environmental control/management or industrial manufacturing.
- Thorough knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, permitting and legal process involving regulatory rulemaking.
- Ability to work independently. Ability to read technical/ legal information and effectively communicate complex issues verbally and in writing.
- Above-average communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient skills in word processing, spreadsheets, Operations database applications, presentations, drafting programs.
- Regulatory negotiations: ability to develop and conduct environmental training.
- Demonstrated experience implementing EH&S systems and processes across a large number of facilities.
- Technical understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and mining operations.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
