Engineering Foreman

A great opportunity awaits an experienced Engineering Foreman to join this large plant hire service company with an excellent reputation throughout Africa and many overseas countries.

Skills / Exp / Edu
  • Must have completed a Trade in either Earth Moving Mechanics or Diesel Mechanics with experience in Open pit Mining operations
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be medically fit
  • Be willing to work shifts
  • Have minimum 8 years post apprenticeship experience in heavy earth moving equipment maintenance in an open pit mining environment
  • Have minimum 8 years experience in leading a team with good leadership skills
 Should have working experience on the following machinery:

Trucks-Volvo ADT’s; Cat 773,777,785;Terex TR100.Excavators-Liebherr 964,974,984,9350.Dozers-Cat D9,D10,D11.Loaders-Cat 988,992.Support Equipment etc

Additional experience on surface earthmoving equipment would be to an advantage
  • Have the  ability to plan, lead and supervise
  • The ability to compile machine inspections and machine shut programs
  • Good Computer literacy skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong focus on safety, health and environmental practices
 Duties
  • Lead a team in the maintenance and repairs to allocated machine fleet
  • Good trouble shooting knowledge on electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Good understanding of maintenance processes
  • Good management style
  • Ordering of parts, components and following up
  • All managing criteria of a team including Human resource functions
  • Developing a high quality safety focused team
  • Report writing and inspections of plant with planned shut programs
