Geothermal Practice Leader/Senior Client Leader
Overview:
- The successful candidate will leverage existing client relationships, and be able to develop new ones to establish business and consulting opportunities. This role requires a combination of business leadership, visibility in client markets, and technical competency. Existing client relationships in and deep understanding of the Higher Education, Healthcare, and Federal markets are preferred, and entrepreneurial business relationships with others will be considered beneficial. Since our geothermal work is often integrated or a part of a larger project and a lead in or following service to our other services, related experience in our core services areas of geotechnical and environmental engineering is preferable.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated technical and leadership abilities in industry organizations and established relationships in client businesses, as well as self-motivation and an entrepreneurial spirit, interpersonal and effective communication methods and skills (including effective facilitation methods), and be seen by the marketplace as a leader.
- Proven project management and staff mentoring capacity, involvement in professional and client organizations, the ability to recognize clients' needs and knowledge of relationship-building methods, advanced problem-solving techniques, proficiency with information technology to support consulting assignments, a working knowledge of client industries and markets, technical aspects of consulting services transactions, management, and other related business activities.
- Engages the client in strategic conversation to develop a broad and deep understanding of the client organization and its ecosystem and the current and future challenges it is facing. Candidates must be respected in the consulting community, possess sales techniques for consulting services, and be a strategic thinker with a demonstrated track record in business development, delivery of strategic services to clients and account management, and a diverse, successful work history in a consulting business.
- Recognizes and seizes opportunities to lead and facilitate on behalf of the client system. Demonstrates strong technical competence in the services required by the client. Builds and maintains a strong bridge between the client and our project teams as they serve the client over time. Where involved in specific projects, ensures that instruments of service address client needs. Assists with project problem resolution and stewards the client relationship through any difficulties so that it thrives over the long term and we are sought out to provide services in the future. Gathers information from all staff working with the client to deepen understanding of client needs and market issues. Provides ongoing input to company-wide strategic and systems thinking and planning. Contributes to the development of new services, products, and innovations.
Requirements:
- Requires Bachelor Engineering degree and PE Registration, with a minimum of 15 years of related consulting experience, and development and management of client accounts in the markets listed above. Advanced degree and industry professional affiliations will be considered a plus.
