Project Manager - SMP

Our client is a fabrication and construction sub contractor working on multiple major projects in the WA resource sector. Thanks to new tenders being awarded an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to head up their construction team.


Working on a FIFO basis and reporting to the Operations Manager you will lead your team to a successful completion of one of Australias most significant new projects. With the support of Supervisors, Safety & Administrative personnel you will have full responsibility of construction management and commercial obligations on the project.


You will utilise your prior experience to carry out your day to day activities which include:

• Financial reporting, budgeting and scheduling.
• Driving the project to the agreed schedule and budget costs whilst maintaining a consistent high quality
• Managing, coordinating and controlling all fabrication and construction work
• Building strong relationships with all stakeholders and maintaining a superior level of communication between the company and client at all times as well as the workforce, subcontractors and unions
• Driving a strong safety culture on site and ensuring a commitment to zero harm policies

A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction will be highly regarded but you would equally succeed in this role if you have all / or a combination of the below:

• 5 years plus experience as a Project Manager on major construction projects in Australia;
• Mine construction experience in regional western Australia specifically experience with materials handling equipment
• A proven history in delivering multi-million dollar projects on time and under budget;
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
• Strong commercial knowledge of projects and the ability to deliver on all areas
