Electrical Supervisor

Remarkable Mining venture has an outstanding position open for an Electrical Supervisor. Only South African citizens, who are suitably qualified, live in the applicable area and meet the requirements of the position are eligible to apply for this vacancy.

The mine is one of the largest open pit operations in Southern Africa with a life of mine in excess of 20 years. The mine is looking for highly educated, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to grow and develop with the mine. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills in a competitive environment, a strong desire to learn new skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team and enjoy high stress production environments.

Requirements:

• Grade 12/ Standard 10 certificate
• N3 and Trade Test
• Foreman/Supervisory certificate
• National certificate Electricial / Mechanical
• 2 years experience as a winder electrician
• 5 years Electrical/Mechanical experience in the Mining Industry of which at least 2 years should be on supervisory level
• Knowledge and experience of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
• Proven track record of achievements, especially in Safety and Preventative Maintenance
• Budgeting and Costs Management
• Experience in handling and managing Contractors
• Knowledge and application of SHEQ procedures and practices
• Computer literacy at skilled level
• A valid drivers license
• A valid certificate of fitness
• Underground experience as a supervisor would be advantageous
• HT/HV training and experience would be advantageous
• Knowledge and experience of PRAGMA Maintenance System would be advantageous

Maintenance and breakdowns:

• Oversee maintenance mechanical / electrical equipment for OPUG
• Oversee repairs of mechanical / Electrical equipment for OPUG
• Condition monitoring of all OPUG equipment
• Proactively identify improvements to eliminate breakdowns

Administration reports and schedules:

• Oversee and sign off safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports
• Ensure all work orders are signed off
• Ensure all job cards and description of work and spares used are signed off
• Administration completed and communicated
• Planned maintenance schedules and ad hoc reports completed and communicated
• Sign-off timesheets and overtime

Procurement:

• Oversee and execute the procurement of equipment and spares

People management:

• Manage own team’s performance
• Manage employee relations
• Train and develop employees

Customer relations:

• Maintain relations with internal customers to ensure departmental needs are met and colleagues are satisfied.
• Provide relevant and specialised technical support to applicable stakeholders.

• Drive safety initiatives adopted by the department
• Engage in the Safety Improvement Plan of the department
• Drive zero harm in your section
