Financial Controller

Specialist Mine Engineering Company has an outstanding position for a Financial Controller. Only South African citizens, who are suitably qualified, live in the applicable area and meet the requirements of the position are eligible to apply for this vacancy.

The Financial Controller would be required to be a hands-on, motivated and punctual individual with experience in the full financial function. Duties would include but not be limited to providing trustworthy information about financial records which will involve financial reporting, taxation, auditing, accounting, corporate finance, business recovery and managing accounting systems and processes. In addition, care must be taken to ensure that financial practices are in line with all statutory legislation and regulations.

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
• Must be computer literate
• Managing companies financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
• Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
• Processing of cashbook transactions
• Reconciliation of bank accounts: national and foreign
• Controlling, processing and reconciliation petty cash and petty cash accounts
• Ensuring all expenses for the month were processed to the correct General Ledger accounts, ranches, departments and fleet numbers
• Reconciling all inter-cashbook accounts
• Processing daily sundry payments, employee salaries and creditor payments on the electronic banking system
• Creditors: Generating of purchase orders, goods received notes, supplier invoices and supplier return notes and reconciliations
• Capturing of salaries, income and deductions and writing of salary journals.
• Reconciliation of salary control accounts consisting of: EMP 201 Account, INSS, IRPS ,Medical aid, Retirement annuities staff loans, advances, Garnish orders, Accommodation benefits, Union fees and Workmen’s Compensation Fund
• Writing of inter-company loan account journals and reconciling these accounts
• Verification of long-term bank loans reconciliation
• Fixed asset management and reconciliation which includes: Updating plant hours, reviewing the depreciation, writing of the depreciation journals.
• Reconciling of the hours worked and transport of each machine with the hours and transport invoiced to clients as agreed upon in the hire contract
• General: Keeping minutes of branch management meetings, compiling a fully defined report thereof for all the managers
