Principal Environmental Engineer / Project Manager
Description:
- This individual will work in both Hamilton, NJ and Jersey City, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- The Hamilton office is seeking a Principal Engineer/Project Manager to be primarily located in the Jersey City, NJ client field office. This individual will interface with both internal and external clients while leading small and large design teams.
- Lead a remedial design team in the preparation of draft and final design documents for multiple and large remedial/redevelopment projects.
- Responsible for design budgets for internal clients and external clients.
- Technically lead small and large design teams.
- Manage design scope, schedule, and budget.
- Follow and lead implementation of company design standards.
- Follow company safety standards, site safety standards and provides all required permitting.
Work on multiple projects at one time and have the ability to maintain successful client relations.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey required.
- Experience implementing New Jersey’s Technical regulations for remediation of contaminated sites that are to be developed.
- 10+ years of design and design management experience on highly complex remediation and development projects involving multiple stakeholders
- Experience managing a portfolio of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail; proven track record leading and successfully completing small and large multi-disciplinary engineering project
- Ability to prepare reports and regulatory submittals.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours and travel as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation.
- Experience supervising other engineering professionals.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must pass drug screen, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Value engineering and/or constructability reviews.
- Registration in multiple states.
- Independent design/technical quality reviews on various types of projects.
- Experience in preparing preliminary engineering reports.
- Experience in vertical construction and design/build projects.
- Able to work with multiple clients with different requirements.
