Environmental Engineer/Remediation Project Assoc. - university student
Imperial Oil views addressing end-of-life environmental obligations and remediating surplus sites as key to its continued strong performance. In the role of Environmental Engineer/ Remediation Project Associate, you will be responsible for supporting Project Managers in designing, developing and implementing environmental assessment programs and remediation and reclamation projects in Canada. Other duties may include conducting literature searches and tracking regulatory commitments. You will liaise with internal customers, external contractors, suppliers and government agencies. The assignment will provide you with an excellent opportunity to participate in key stages of project execution.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your work will include safely managing the following types of projects:
• Technically sound and practical environmental assessment programs
• Scientifically-grounded, cost-effective remedial solutions
Reporting directly to an experienced regional manager, this is an excellent opportunity to increase your technical knowledge and to gain invaluable practical experience in the areas of environmental assessment, remediation, reclamation and project management, including field execution, safety, cost and quality control
University Student Seeking Co-op/Summer/Internship Employment
• Entering 4th year of engineering, chemistry, earth science or environmental science, with a consideration given to project management and environmental studies
• Specific responsibilities will commensurate with qualifications

• You must possess the ability to learn, be an accomplished negotiator with sound analytical abilities
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills are essential
• A safe driving record is a requirement for this position
