Mining Manager

The position of a Mine Manager exists at a coal producer and a subsidiary of company. The successful incumbent will be responsible for all aspects related to the day to day management for the colliery.

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Coal mining supported with a Mine Manager's certificate for fiery mines is a definite requirement. An additional business related qualification such as a MBA/MDP would be preferred.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Must be currently operating at a senior level in a company
  • 5-10 years experience in surface/open cast coal mining
  • Knowledge of ISO, OSHAS, OSH ACT and other related legislation
  • Knowledge of budgeting and strategic planning
  • Experience in translating strategic plans into operational plans
  • Experience in Building
  • Developing and leading a high calibre team
  • Proven Management Skills couple with demonstrable track record of achievements
