Description

Position Summary:

  • Reports to Booster Shift Supervisor.
  • Schedule: Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM or 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
  • Pay: $20/hr.

Responsible for the following:

  • To safely and efficiently set up of canisters on specific tooling, pouring hot pentolite into canisters, and moving carts into cooling tunnels. 
  • Melt down process of transferring melted TNT/Triton from the pre-melter to main pots.
  • The operator will be required to add PETN to main pots per specific formulation, and monitoring the process per our operating specifications.
  • The operator will be loading empty plastic or corrugated canisters onto pallets.
  • The operator will be cleaning and packing finished product into corrugated boxes, stamping canisters.  Operator must drive van truck to transport product, prepare, operate and unload centrifuge.
  • Employee must complete proper documentation while maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be resilient; possess awareness of self and others while working individually or with a team.
  • Must have good communication skills, both oral and written along with basic math skills and record keeping abilities.
  • Perform specific duties in order to support site operation and customer deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Must understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures, company directives, safety rules and plant policies.
  • Actively use and promote take 5 program.
  • Other duties may be assigned within the capabilities of the successful candidate, as determined by management.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
  • Experience: Not required, but manufacturing experience preferred.  On the job training is provided.
  • Possessor of Explosives certification/Must be 21 years old.

Work Environment & Physical Conditions:

  • Ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as, safety glasses and shoes, respirator, face shield, Tyvec, sleeves and gloves) as required by site-specific requirements.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, squat, bend and walk correctly and be capable of lifting up to 58 lbs. and push/pull 83 lbs.
  • Must be able to work safely with explosive materials while wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment.
