Business Unit Description 

• [Company] segment designs, manufactures and markets engineered solutions and products used to process, blend, meter and transport fluids in addition to air and gas filtration and dehydration. Recognized for its leading brands and turnkey systems capability, the Flow Technology segment has global operations which serve the Food & Beverage, Power & Energy and Industrial markets. 

Job Summary 

• Work from orders, specifications and general instructions to blast clean a wide variety of weldments, castings and parts to prepare them for further processing and finish blast prescribed surfaces after machining, in accordance with surface finish specification. 

Responsibilities 

• Start up blast equipment, maintain an adequate supply of blast material, clean filters and remove dirt from area.
• Remove and replace all marks and identifications.
• Detect and report faulty operation, defective material and/or equipment.
• Protect surfaces that do not require blasting by taping them off or through other protective measures.
• Follow all prescribed safety rules and regulations. 

Qualifications 

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and Experience

• High school education, and six months experience or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Must have or be able to be forklift certified.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
• Ability to write simple correspondence. 
• Ability to effectively participate in work group discussions.
