Employee Wellness Specialist

Remarkable Mining venture has an outstanding position open for an Employee Wellness Specialist. Only South African citizens, who are suitably qualified and meet the requirements of the position, are eligible to apply for this vacancy.

The mine is one of the largest open pit operations in Southern Africa with a life of mine in excess of 20 years. The mine is looking for highly educated, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to grow and develop with the mine. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills in a competitive environment, a strong desire to learn new skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team and enjoy high stress production environments.

Requirements:

  • Matric/ Grade 12 Certificate
  • Relevant Diploma (HR / Social Work / Psychology)
  • Qualified as a Nurse would be an advantage 
  • Registration with Occupational Health Association / Clinical Psychology Association
  • Up to 5 years operational Employee Wellness experience
  • Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
  • Medical Fitness Certificate
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Employee wellness programs:
  • Implement Employee wellness programs
  • Assist in the development of the Mines Wellness Strategy
  • Conduct 360 health assessments
  • Create health management awareness
  • Coordinate no fault terminations in case of incapacity
  • Provide individual counseling and support and refer appropriately where applicable

Policies and procedures:

  • Implement Wellness policy
  • Ensure legal compliance as per policies and procedures
  • Implementation of EWP communication strategy

HIV Aids programs:
  • Coordinate HIV aids program
  • Ensure alignment to ARM group strategy
  • Facilitate voluntary counseling and testing all employees and families
  • Create awareness and education on HIV/ AIDS through a communication strategy
  • Ensure condom distribution
  • Compliance to HIV Aids budget

Support services and structures:

  • Create awareness of various employee support structures (i.e. toll free care line numbers)
  • Keeping up to date with government support structures and legislation governing the support structures
  • Acts as employee representative on the retirement fund, disability claims and provides feedback hen required
  • Administration of funeral benefits and insurance claims as well as coordinate funeral arrangements

Reporting:

  • Monthly annual reporting to the CDS Superintendent/ Manager
  • Administration of various claims and funds
  • Record keeping of relevant statistics and audit reports
  • Filing as per IMS system

Financial skills education:

  • Create awareness of financial skills education
  • Coordinate financial skills information and consultation sessions

SHREQ:

  • Enhance safety awareness throughout working area
  • Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition
  • Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures

Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged individuals.
The candidate must reside in the Mpumalanga area.
