Geologist

An opencast mine based in the Northern Cape is seeking a qualified and experienced Geologist to take responsibility for supervising pit operations, and undertaking geological mapping and core logging.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum qualification : 
  • Post Graduate in GeologyA motivated and enthusiastic individual, with a strong interest in exploration 
  • Bachelors degree in Geology advantageous
  • 3+ years’ experience in mining and/or exploration environments
  • Committed to improving occupational health and safety standards
  • A proven capacity to operate independently and within a team as required
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Eagerness to enhance their professional career Software Skills
  • Working knowledge in SURPAC will be an advantage
  • Proficient in the use of mining, GIS, database and other relevant analytical softwareKnowledge of geological specialized software
Job Specification

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Geologist The company strives to return shareholder value through exploration success in a safe, sustainable, environmentally friendly and economically aware manner.
Responsibilities will include mapping, geochemical sampling, drill programme supervision, data analysis and report writing.
