Construction Quality Control Lead II

Basic Job Requirements

• Review of NDE Contractor procedures and technician qualifications. This position will be based out of Fluor’s office in Sugar Land, Texas.
• Review and become familiar with the project technical requirements such as applicable codes, standards and specifications.
• Assist, as directed by the Director, Construction Quality with review and assessment of project quality deliverables. These may include: Inspection & Test Plans, Contractor Quality Procedures, Inspector qualification documents.
• Occasional business trips to job sites to review or audit NDE results to verify compliance with contractual requirements.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director, Construction Quality
• Stays current with technical developments in area of expertise through continuing education and being aware of changes to codes, standards and specifications that affect project work
• Participates in training programs provided by Company.
• Remain knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe manner.
• Submit information or data to the Director, Construction Quality on an as-required basis to support office reports or initiatives.

Other Job Requirements

• Six (6) years of industry experience which must include hands-on experience with ultrasonic examination – including phased array UT , time-of-flight diffraction as well as manual ultrasonic inspection techniques.
• Be capable verifying ultrasonic indications.
• Current or documented past NDE Level III or II certifications meeting ASNT SNT TC 1A nondestructive testing requirements.
• Certification by recognized authorities (i.e. AWS, API, NACE) is preferred. Note that, as a minimum, personnel will ultimately need to be capable of performing weld inspections as well as review of radiographs. The personnel shall receive corporate training when required and be able to pass Fluor’s internal NDE certifications for visual inspectors and radiographic film interpretation.
• Good computer and software skills including but not limited to the use of word processing. and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets, databases and electronic presentations.
• Good to excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• A 2 or 3 year technical or engineering technology diploma; or a four year engineering degree is preferable but not mandatory
