Control Room Operator- CNX Marine

Position Summary

• Coordinates with management and operations/maintenance to develop and implement the daily train dumping, vessel loading and yard management plans and schedules to ensure the success of the Terminal goals.

Target Responsibilities

• Coordinates and manages inbound and outbound operations and Terminal traffic.  Appropriately manages coal cargo pile destination and special handling of material transfer during dumping and loading activities.
• Logs all operational activity.
• Provides support documentation of operational activities.  Provides weight accountability for inbound and outbound operations used for invoicing of services and rail freight.
• Monitors control panel, gives permissives to operators and communicates with Operations/Maintenance personnel to safely and efficiently manage the operation.
• Assists in executing the daily operational plan with field supervisor and crew.
• Coordinates sampling activity with subcontractor.
• Coordinates empty car inspection with subcontractor.
• Records safety lock-out throughout the Terminal according to the Terminal lock out procedures as well as monitors personnel nearing water edge.
• Monitors weather conditions to proactively take steps to coordinate an effective production plan.
• Provides computer PLC logic diagnosis and alterations to modify the automation system for continual operations or mechanical deficiencies.
• Monitors and executes Terminal blending requirements during train dumping and vessel loading.
• Initiates and maintains Event Checklist for all incidents.
• Performs special projects as required.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with specialized training such is required.
• Requires 3-5 years of related experience in industrial or similar environment.
• Must possess basic analytic skills and moderate knowledge of the functional operations and maintenance, analytic skills and a moderate knowledge of the functional field and the company policies, practices, and precedents.
• Must have basic computer skills including familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to troubleshoot effectively providing timely and accurate solutions.
