Senior Production Engineer

Our client, a downtown Oil & Gas company, is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This position will be responsible for various production design specifications and strategies for SAGD production start-up.

Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for development of wellbore configurations for SAGD injection and production wells, water source wells, and observation wells.
• Monitor and optimize field and well production to maximize recovery and profitability
• Work closely with field staff supporting their day-to-day operations as well as being involved in formal project work, well reviews, and operating cost analysis
• Management and cost control of all sponsored projects
• Interact with exploitation and geological staff to identify and implement new development opportunities
• Development of sand management strategy for production wells
• Development of water management strategy
• Responsible for production chemistry and flow assurance strategies
• Development of production and injection measurement and allocation strategy
• Work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment with Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir, Drilling, Facilities and other Engineering disciplines
• Participate in meetings with external partners
• Identify opportunities to improve project performance and reduce costs

Qualifications Include:

• Minimum B.Sc. Engineering
• P. Eng status recognized by APEGGA
• Prior oil sands SAGD experience or familiarity with reservoir production in heavy oil thermal EOR is required
• Familiarity with Alberta Energy Resource Conservation Board (ERCB) technical regulations for well construction and operation is required
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment with highly motivated professionals
• Results-orientated and self-starter with a sense of urgency and ability to respond effectively
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced company environment
