Job Description

• [Company] includes two iron ore mines in Northern MN ([Company] in Mt. Iron and [Company] in Keewatin) and has the following vacancies at the [Company] facility:

Electrical Maintenance Shift Manager:

• Reporting directly to the Area Manager of the Plants, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, overseeing the electrical maintenance crews in the Concentrator and Pellet Plant Electrical Departments. This position is also responsible for administering the [Company] Safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the assigned facility. The candidate must also be capable of troubleshooting, debugging, repairing, and rewiring of electrical systems in the plant and in the mine. The [Company] location has its own Power Distribution system, and the Electrical Maintenance Shift Manager is also responsible for maintaining the power distribution at the plant and mine. This position is also responsible for administering the [Company] Safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the assigned facility.

Requirements:

• The position requires a Bachelor's or technical college degree in Electrical Maintenance or Electrical Engineering plus two or more years of like work experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. The successful candidates must be an independent individual with the ability to recognize and make decisions that affect electrical and mechanical maintenance improvements with little input from other managers. In addition, the candidate should hold, or have the ability to obtain, a Minnesota Journeyman or Master Electrical License and be knowledgeable in taconite mining, concentrating, and pelletizing operations as well as have a strong electrical maintenance/mechanical background, although candidates with strong related experience in industrial/manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
