Our client is a commercial company wholly Government owned, and specifically assigned to pursue project development and investment across a broad range of industries such as oil and gas exploration and production, power, energy, shipping, specialty and performance petrochemicals and chemicals.
Now they are ready to embark on their next stage of vision that will involve the upstream mining of metals and minerals processing leveraging on the in-country available mineral resources.

This is an exciting phase in the company’s and the country’s history and to this end they seek an experience Commercial Manager for their operations in the Middle East.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial & Finance Officer, the successful incumbent will be responsible for:

• Aligning overall organizational procurement strategy with suppliers and strengthening the business relationships to formulate long-term supply and service contracts ensuring project requirements are compiled in terms of: 
• Long and short term milestones 
• Utmost quality standards 
• Compliance with safety codes & standards 
• Optimized Costs 
• Improvement in procurement strategies. 
• Verifying budget allocations for the relevant supply / service contracts. 
• Explore / Review Equipment / Plant Vendors. 
• Requirement analysis and planning based on the project equipment requirement. 
• Market analysis for procurement of goods and services. 
• Identify, build & maintain reliable and quality vendor database. 
• Framing the scope of services & supply of equipment / plant. 
• Review of technical specifications and commercial conditions for incorporating in the tender document. 
• Co-ordinate the commercial process in synchronization with other procurement areas. 
• Commercial and economic input for acquiring new equipment. 
• Perform all other related duties as required and assigned. 
• Stay abreast of current financial, accounting and taxation trends and consults experts to expand knowledge base in order to forecast future financial implications. 

Ideally you will have:

• 8 - 12 years of experience as a Commercial Manager. 
• Degree in Engineer / Commerce plus MBA. 
• Computer literate with expertise in MS Office. 
• Strong communication skills.
