Audit Manager
Responsibilities
- Audit Manager[Company] . is a worldwide mining machinery and services company. Through our market leading divisions -- [Company] and [Company] -- we manufacture original equipment and aftermarket parts and services for underground and surface mining equipment. [Company] products and related services are used extensively for the mining of coal, copper, iron, gold and other mineral resources and the company employs 8,500 people worldwide.
- [Company] . offers excellent benefits, a continual focus on training and development and a financially sound company in a growing industry. We are currently looking to add an Audit Manager in our [Company] Finance Division at our Milwaukee location.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the project management aspects of the audit plan to deliver the plan on time and within budget. Review audit work programs, plan the design of audit tests and evaluate test results.
- Lead, coach and mentor audit staff to achieve successful individual performance, staff development and overall departmental goals and objectives. Create a continuous improvement and learning environment.
- Research and evaluate GAAP/IFRS/SOX regarding appropriate financial reporting and governance application. •Establish and maintain relationships at the senior management level and facilitate conversations to gain buy-in and commitment to action plans. Facilitate knowledge sharing across the Company.
- Use financial analysis to identify improvement opportunities and risks. Use ACL and Excel to analyze and evaluate information and draw conclusions.
- Facilitate the evaluation of key business processes, risks and controls. Manage the annual testing of financial reporting controls (SOX 404).
- Create and manage time and expense budgets to ensure audits are performed as planned and compliant with sound audit practices.
- Write audit reports for presentation to an executive audience. Elevate issues / findings as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Information Technology. • Strong knowledge of audit and financial management controls, practices and approaches and GAAP and SOX requirements.
- 5 to 8+ years of prior audit experience in publicly held global manufacturing company or relevant consulting experience in a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Prior managerial or lead project management experience and demonstrated leadership and employee development experience.
- Strong critical thinking and intuitive problem solving approach. Constructive professional skepticism and inquisitiveness. Continuous improvement mindset. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, time management and project management skills are critical. Approaches work with a high sense of urgency, is self-motivated and able to drive change.
- Ability to form effective working relationships while remaining objective and impartial.
- Willingness to travel 25 to 40%, both domestic and international Desired:
- CPA preferred
