MRP Master Scheduler
Responsibilities
- Analyze and determine material and manufacturing requirements for orders and delivery schedules and develop master schedule.
- Establish priorities in meeting customer requirements and adapt master production schedule to maintain stability. Also establish production and purchasing priorities when capacity limitations occur in Plant or are caused by Vendors.
- Negotiate appropriate delivery schedules that are realistic and meet customer needs. Expedite resolution of problems causing delays in delivery schedule.
- Plan, schedule, and purchase gears and/or services necessary to ensure delivery to satisfy production and service requirements for Franklin Division with minimum investment in inventory.
- Develop and maintain time fences, i.e. lead times required to acquire raw materials and set up machines to adjust the schedule.
- Maintain procurement and determine normal run quantities, i.e. maximum parts for the least cost and inventory investment.
- Control the generation of excess and obsolete inventory by monitoring inventory levels.
- Monitor monthly bookings to determine material and manufacturing requirements for future planning and to establish internal forecasting procedures.. Monitor and maintain inventory levels locally and Franklin designated gears to meet division plans and goals.
- Monitor and maintain Franklin's requirements schedule daily, e.g. rejections notices, ordering, canceling, rescheduling, and maintenance of Franklin's files through S.A.P.. Evaluate feedback from the MRP, SFC, Production, P & A, and S.A.P. systems.
- Monitor and coordinate administrative functions of shipping, receiving, raw material inventory, and finished goods inventory.
- Coordinate return and repair of excess and obsolete inventory as a result of engineering changes, cancellation of orders, etc.
- Supervise Material Control Coordinators in performance of their duties and delegate work assignments as needed.
- Explore, develop, and recommend cost improvement ideas which will benefit the company.
Qualifications
- The position requires a four year degree in Business Administration or its equivalency. APICS certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in production and inventory control is required.
- Experience should include exposure to material requirements planning (MRP), shop floor control, capacity planning, and management information systems including S.A.P.
- Knowledge of Purchasing and Shipping & Receiving are beneficial.
