Senior Product Engineer

Job Description

• [Company] - Hydraulics Division has an immediate opening for a Senior Product Engineer in our Brooklyn, OH manufacturing facility. The primary functions of this role is to conduct product engineering activities, analyze design requirements, develop mechanical solutions and design new products per customer requirements.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of the Brooklyn, OH, facility or reasonable commuting distance will be considered for this position.

The specific functions include:

• Uses machine design background to design or redesign new industrial clutches and brakes for existing and new markets.
• Utilizes Pro/Engineer and AutoCad in the preparation of CAD models and drawings.
• Employs finite element analysis to assess component and assembly stresses.
• Performs engineering calculations and performs stack-up analyses.
• Utilizes DFSS process (Design for Six Sigma) in the development process.
• Utilizes PROLaunch phase-gate process when running larger design projects.
• Writes Design Guidebook and Knowledge Object entries to document key design information.
• Supports Application Engineering relative to product design questions and analyses.
• Assists field sales engineers in answering product specific questions that are beyond the scope of Application Engineering.
• Prepares monthly updates on assigned projects, including the PSR (Project Status Report).
• Participates in Peer Design Review process.
• Maintains meaningful personal development plan.
• Participates in and may lead cross-functional teams.
• Submits Invention Disclosures, as appropriate.
• Works with suppliers as needed.
• Communicates well at all levels.
• Works collaboratively with other global engineering centers.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements):

• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and design from an accredited institution, with 5 years mechanical engineering experience OR M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution, with 2 years mechanical engineering and design experience required.

• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without work authorization.

Preferred:

• 3D and 2D CAD (prefer Pro/Engineer and AutoCAD) or equivalent packages preferred.
• Finite Element Analysis (structural) experience preferred.
• Stack-up analysis experience preferred.
• Machine design experience or clutch and brake design experience preferred.
