Our Client are very proud of their long history of providing metals and minerals of all kinds to customers around the world. The Group owns and operates a portfolio of base metal mining operations and exploration fields. They are also a gold, silver, lead zinc and copper producer.
The Role
They are currently seeking a Principle Project Geologist to work on their underground base and precious metals mine in Western Australia. Reporting to the Chief Geologist, you will be responsible for the effective functioning of the Mine Geology team:
Supervision, training and mentoring of the Mine and Resource Geologists
Managing the geological data management and data quality control process
Fostering a culture of safe work practices
Coordinating the completion of digital geological models in consultation with the Project Mine Geologist-Resources
Generating geological resource block models to a timeline that is integrated with mine planning and Corporate requirements
Providing detailed geological advice to other Departments
Supervision and mentoring of the Geological Database Administrator
Providing monthly and other technical reports and associated documentation.
The Ideal Person:
With substantial experience within an underground mining environment you will extensive technical skills and personal attributes including the following:
Bachelor of Science degree in Geology
The ability to successfully lead and motivate teams of people
Drill program planning and implementation experience
Strong computer skills with mining software including Vulcan
An unwavering commitment to workplace safety
