Mine Geologist

Our client is an Australian base metals mining and exploration company, with operations in New South Wales and the Dominican Republic. They currently have an opening for a Mine Geologist to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Geology Superintendent, the Mine Geologist will be responsible for determining the location and quality of value adding mineralisation within the mining leases, and providing resource estimation and general geological support to the Geology department.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with statistical analysis as required;
• Conducting Risk/ Hazard Identifications;
• Synthesising all data in the interpretation of geological and structural rock features;
• Maintaining stope risk assessments for all long term plan shapes;
• Assisting the Geology Superintendent to plan and implement infill drilling programmes;
• Logging and processing diamond drill core;
• Supervising Diamond Drill rig when under control of the geological department;
• Conducting UG Face Mapping on a continual basis;
• Ensuring all UG loader operator samples are collected from stoping regions.

To be successful in this role the applicant will posses:

• A Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology;
• Between 2 and 5 years previous Underground Mine Geology Experience;
• Experience with Vulcan or other 3D modelling software and the ability to produce resource models and geological wireframes;
• Experience with acQuire software;
• Experience with reconciliation of modelled tonnes and grades.
