Geology Superintendent

• NSW based position
• Residential or FIFO role on 9/5 roster 

Our client is an Australian base metals mining and exploration company, with operations in New South Wales and the Dominican Republic. They currently have an opening for a Geology Superintendent to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Mining Manager, the Geology Superintendent will be responsible for control and supervision of the Geology Department to improve safety, optimise resource extraction and increase efficiency. They will also be responsible for management of all aspects of the Geology Section through the effective management of the people, resources and assets of the department, to achieve production targets.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Collection and analysis of data to verify the quality of the resource definition process;
• Oversee the scheduling, planning and implementation of activities to increase mineral resources;
• Oversee the planning and implementation of grade control processes to ensure grade quality matches needs of the mining strategy;
• Management of contractors;
• Provide specialist geological support to the Technical Services Manager.

To be successful in this role the applicant will posses:

• A Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology;
• 5 to 10 years previous underground mine geology experience;
• Extensive experience with Vulcan or other 3D modelling software;
• Resource estimation and reporting experience;
• Experience with acQuire software;
• Experience with JORC standards and reporting;
• Extensive experience in QA/QC and grade control.

The role is offered on a residential or FIFO (9/5 days) basis. An attractive salary package is on offer for the right candidate.
