Structural Engineer Lead

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Create design sketches and perform structural calculations.
  • Check plans for accuracy and completion according to applicable building code and material codes and standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise work of other Civil/Structural engineers and designers.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the discipline specifications, bill of material, engineering procurement requisitions, manpower planning, man hour control, progress reports and any other document pertaining to project execution.
  • Meet with project manager and client regarding design and construction schedule.
  • Responsible for interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Responsible for communicating information to all concerned personnel.

Training and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 12 years of design experience in the Heavy Industrial sector (mining or oil and gas industry).
  • Previous Lead Engineer experience preferred
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • PE highly desirable
