Senior Mining Engineer - Open Pit

Our client seeks to appoint a Senior Mining Engineer - Open Pit to work within their Technical Services Department in the Corporate Head Office, Brisbane. Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer you will be responsible for the completion of mine engineering studies to support ore reserve estimation and mine design for their Gold operations.

In this challenging role you will:

• Produce timely and cost effective delivery of mining engineering inputs for Ore Reserves estimation and Life-of-Mine strategic scheduling 
• Assist site operations with key data analysis for operational scheduling and budgeting 
• Support services for short – term planning, material tracking, pit optimization 
• Support development of project works and life of mine scheduling program 
• Input Resource Reserves model and estimation 
• Assist in benchmarking of project production efficiencies and costs 

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering 
• 8 years field experience with min of 5 years in open pit mine planning, 
• Experience working on metalliferous mines; preferably Gold 
• Experience in the management of mine technical functions preferred but not essential 
• Advanced planning software skills, knowledge of Surpac is desirable
