Senior Mine Geologist

Design & Build is seeking a Senior Mine Geologist for a leading WA based Mining Operator with National and International Operations. This is a 2IC to the Lead Geologist. The successful applicant will be working on a underground hard rock mine site
 
This is a FIFO Role from Perth working on a 9:5 Roster or can be a residential role 
 
The successful applicant will be managing the geological activities of the site and the operation as part of the Technical Services Team. 

Key responsibilities of the Senior Mine Geologist will include:
  • Manage daily pit geology and planning of the production
  • Planning of the pit and ore reserves
  • Managing and co-ordinating a team on site and supervising geologists and techs
  • Establishing strong rapport with colleagues in the team as well as other teams within the operation
  • Monthly reporting and control
To succeed in the of Senior Mine Geologist role you will need:
  • Degree in Geology
  • Good managerial and mentoring skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • The ability to write and deliver reports
  • A proven track record in safety and environment
  • Experience in underground mining
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Australian market and ideally experience in WA is preferred
