General Machine Operator

Position Summary:

• This job includes the assembly and packaging of Electronic Delay Detonators using a variety of equipment and procedures.
• Reports to:  Plant Operations Manager
• Starting Pay: $17.10/hr.

Essential Functions:

• Complete inspection steps as required for raw materials, some light soldering work in accordance with all applicable documentation and safety procedures.
• Job rotation is required in the Electronics assembly area; therefore each operator is required to understand the requirements of each processing step.
• Operators are responsible for tooling changes, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance of all equipment.
• Use of simple hand tools will also be required.
• Operator shall be able to perform equally well in any phase of the entire operation.
• Operator will maintain safety in the area, through strict adherence to the prescribed cleaning procedures as set forth by the Safety Committee.
• Will be required to do other related duties as assigned by MQE, Supervisor and/or Team Leader.  Appropriate training time for this job is 30 days.
• Other duties may be assigned within the capabilities of the successful candidate, as determined by management.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED, The ability to apply for and obtain an BATFE Possessor’s Certificate,
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic math skills.
