Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager

Responsibilities:

• If hired for this position you will be involved with project management of geotechnical engineering  projects in a new satellite office being developed in the Milwaukee, WI area. Only candidates with knowledge of the region and established local contacts will be considered. You will have a WI PE license and marketing/business development abilities. This is a growth oriented position; the person hired will function as the 'supervisor' of the office and you could grow into the branch manager. From a technical standpoint work consists of performing boring layouts, clearing utilities, supervising drill rigs, performing geophysical surveys, classifying soils, assigning lab testing, preparing geotechnical reports, and related materials testing assignments. Projects include a wide variety of sites from residential developments to commercial and large industrial facilities. Work is also performed in the public sector; for cities, municipalities, and state and federal agencies. Because low barriers are maintained between departments, you can also expect to be involved with construction materials testing assignments. Additional responsibilities include assisting senior staff in marketing, preparing proposals, maintaining a client database, and managing budget proposals and invoices. You can expect to be involved with diverse and challenging projects in both the field and office.

Qualifications:

• BSCE required; MS in geotechnical engineering would be a plus.
• 5 - 7 years related geotechnical/CMT engineering experience.
• WI PE license required.
• Proficiency in oral and written communications.
• Strong project management and marketing/business development skills.
