The Shawnee, OK facility is [Company]  Center of Excellence for the machining and assembly of hydraulic motors and hydraulic motor components, used to power both agricultural and construction equipment.
  • The ideal candidate for this opportunity will possess a BS degree in engineering or a related field and have experience as an ME in a manufacturing setting. Experience with CNC Programming and metal cutting is preferred. Project management and problem solving will be key to this role. This ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and can effectively work with a team to achieve success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review product specifications, recommend changes to improve quality, reduce cost and maximize the process capability to manufacture a quality, cost effective component.
  • Establish processes including programming of CNC machines, requesting and approving tooling and equipment, originate operational instruction sheets in order to produce the product in a safe and economical manner as well as routing instructions for all manufacturing orders.
  • Participate in cost reduction, value analysis and economic programs in order to reduce labor and burden costs.
  • Originate estimates in order to establish costs to product modification, deviations and proposals as requested.
  • Work with manufacturing to introduce improvements, resolve problems, improve product and meet production cost or quality as required.
  • Make disposition, as a member of material review board, on discrepant material - manufactured and purchased.
  • Prepare RFQ’s for equipment and or tooling, select the most appropriate and originate requisitions accordingly.
  • Provide technical direction to aid in the training of direct labor, indirect labor, and office personnel.
  • Communicate proposed or pending changes to other departments as necessary in order to implement them with minimal problems and in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

  • Education: BS Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Prior Co-op/Intern experience in a manufacturing setting desired.

Critical Skills:

  • CNC programming, preferably with macro variables, flow and process engineering, tooling and fixture design, LEAN Mfg. concepts, project management

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a metal cutting/grinding environment, PLC programming, process failure mode and effect analysis, Six Sigma knowledge, Greenbelt/Black Belt certification is a plus.
