Document Engineer

Description:

• Under supervision of licensed engineer, organize and implement project documentation and control activities of construction engineering field office and field inspection personnel providing inspection and materials testing services. Review project schedule, budget, engineering drawings, specifications and procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications utilizing knowledge of construction engineering processes and principles. Coordinate jobsite construction management activities and ensure operations are in compliance with specifications. Review project safety program for adherence to federal and state safety codes and contract requirements. Ensure construction operations are completed on schedule, in accordance with project budget and quality standards. Establish project field procedures. Review RFI's and related submittals. Coordinate field meetings with contractors and clients. Maintain client and subcontractor contact to communicate status of all project field activities. Duties involve cost estimation, project controls, documentation, claims management, quantity take-offs, job site safety compliance, and utilization of Primavera or MS Project, and Auto CAD or Microstation (V8).

Requirements:

• Requires bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, architecture or civil engineering, followed by min. 2 years of experience in the position offered, or 2 years of any combination of graduate level education, professional training or experience in construction management which includes cost estimation, project controls, documentation, claims management, quantity take-offs, job site safety compliance, and utilization of Primavera or MS Project, and Auto CAD or Microstation (V8).
