Minimum requirements:

Purpose of the Job

• To drive Projects’ strategy in the coal/hard rock mining industry and provide mining engineering expertise on various projects

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Mining Engineering Strategy and Support
• As lead engineer, assist project managers and multidisciplinary teams to produce or evaluate conceptual studies, prefeasibility studies and feasibility studies.
• As project Manager co-ordinate and control activities of various engineering consultants
• Liaise with other engineering disciplines
• Review technical reports produced by DRA to ensure a consistent high technical standard.
• Contribute to the mining department with respect to strategy
• Remain abreast of technical issues and research within the field of mining.
• Mentor and develop younger professionals
• Client Liaison
• Business Development

Requirements for the Position

Education

• BSc Eng (Mining) or similar
• Mine Manager’s Certificate
• Membership of a professional bodies e.g. SAIMM / ECSA
• Professional registration or eligibility

Training

• Computer Literacy

SH&E

• Safety knowledge and experience

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of Mining or mine related experience
• Ability to evaluate mine feasibility studies
