Supply Manager

Our client, a Perth based Exploration Company developing a Greenfield project in West Africa, seeks to appoint the services of an experienced Supply Manager. Reporting to the GM, the Supply Manager will take care of the strategic and operational needs of the company.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Strategic network optimization, including warehousing and distribution
  • Planning and building a professional supporting team
  • Developing and executing transportation strategy, including frequency, routes, and contracting
  • Organizing department effectively to ensure satisfaction of internal and external suppliers and customers
  • Sourcing planning, including current inventory and forecast demand, in collaboration with all suppliers
  • Managing vendor purchase order issuance and execution
  • Organizing freight and mobilization of service contractors to operation sites
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
  • Must be proficient in French language (both spoken and written)
  • Must have a tertiary qualification in engineering or supply based discipline.
  • Must have at least 10 years prior Supply / Procurement role experience, 4 of which should be at supervisory level.
  • Must have significant experience in Greenfield operations.
  • Prior working experience in West Africa will be a significant advantage. 
  • Experience with Integrated Management systems
  • First class negotiation skills
The position is offered on a 6/3 week rotation, commuting business class from your point of hire. The role will initially be based in the country’s largest city and as the project progresses the positions will be based on site.
