Security Specialist (Split Shift)

Position Summary:

• Primary function is to ensure the physical security of the plant property, buildings, product, equipment and the safety of the employees.
• Pay:  $17/hr.
• Reports to:  Operations Superintendent

Essential Functions:

• Monitors & controls plant access by manning main guardhouse.
• Performs security checks of all entry plant personnel, including contractors, vendors & visitors.
• Conducts security rounds of plant premises, including magazine & dry houses.
• Performs the job duties that are required in the plant emergency response plan.
• Performs gate searches of vehicles & plant personnel as needed.
• Fill-in for other Security Specialist duties as required.
• Miscellaneous job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.

Education:

• Applicant must be a high school graduate, either a past policy officer or a certified NY Security Guard or able to pass the New York State Certification for security Guard Training.

Work Environment & Physical Conditions:

• Ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as, safety glasses and shoes, respirator, hard hat and ear protection, safety harness) as required by site specific requirements.
