Job Summary
- Key leadership position responsible for managing through subordinates, supervisors, and diverse support functions, the flawless execution of the sales, design, development and manufacturing of highly engineered, custom designed rolling mills, wire flattening equipment and spring coilers. This position is directly accountable for the strategic direction of the business. Key responsibilities include establishing and growing sales/distribution channels; developing and nurturing strong customer relationships; acquiring and leveraging highly talented engineering resources; achieving financial commitments/managing P&L; and driving execution of cost savings/Lean initiatives, operational efficiency gains, supply chain management programs and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and policies
Responsibilities
- Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establish overarching FENN Division business strategy, including identification of target markets, global market penetration plans, sales and distribution channels, low cost country manufacturing opportunities, and product line innovation opportunities.
- Develop goals, objectives and strategies for the manufacturing organization and direct their cost-effective accomplishment. Maintain broad oversight of operations and promote independent and team actions to improve overall manufacturing effectiveness, customer relations, and contain costs.
- Direct large-scale change leadership initiatives that embody continuous improvement, operational excellence, and creates contemporary solutions across all functions and processes associated with sales & marketing, application and design engineering, manufacturing and distribution. Oversee overall business performance relative to achievement of cost, delivery and responsiveness to customer requirements. Direct continual review of business operations and the development and introduction of alternative approaches to design, development and manufacturing that provide high quality products at or below cost and on schedule.
- Direct investigations and analyses, and the development of proposals depicting cost benefits and other advantages associated with proposed actions. Negotiate or manage negotiations that typically have considerable impact on the organization. Ensure the most effective utilization of staff, equipment, and facilities. Manage the P&L to established and approved commitments.
- Focus self and others on the importance to the business of maintaining a long-term focus, creating a challenging vision and buy-in on strategies, and action plans that motivate human resources, and drives others to achieve beyond the scope of current jobs, functions, and / or assignments.
- Provide appropriate levels of counseling, coaching, performance management and training to the team and individuals in order to achieve organizational goals, personal growth, career development, retention of critical talent and job enrichment.
- Ensure compliance to all internal and external policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, business, or related field. Masters in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
- 15 - 20 years of experience in growth leadership roles, up to and including 3 years leading a progressive manufacturing organization of $10M or greater in sales.
- Experience in design, development and manufacturing of capital equipment goods, preferably metal forming, rolling mills and related equipment.
- Must have lead or been a key contributor in at least one significant merger, acquisition or large-scale organization change implementation with demonstrated accomplishments.
- Experience leading in a unionized environment preferred.
