Construction Materials Testing Department Manager

Responsibilities:

• The West Palm Beach, FL office of ECS seeks a senior construction materials testing [CMT] project manager who will function as department manager. Working with a team of geotechnical engineers and CMT project managers, the person selected for this position will be responsible for managing technical services of the department. Work includes all aspects of running a materials testing department and well as marketing, business and client development. Further, you will be involved with report and proposal preparation and review, mentoring/managing CMT and laboratory staff, and supervision of PM's and field technicians. Because low barriers are maintained between departments, candidates should have experience working on both geotechnical engineering and CMT field and laboratory projects. Local candidates with knowledge of the region are preferred, however, all qualified candidates will be considered.

Qualifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering or a related field required; MS degree in geotechnical engineering would be a plus.
• 5-7+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering and CMT services.
• EIT required; PE license would be a plus.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication
• Strong project management and marketing/BD skills.
• P&L experience managing a CMT department and complex projects is preferred, along with a solid understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts.
