  • $2bn copper project
  • Start in Perth, move to site in 2013
Our client is a FTSE-listed Central Asian copper producer. They require a Chief Metallurgist for their $2 billion copper project. This role will be responsible for overseeing and assisting in the design and commissioning of their copper flotation plant.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Chief Metallurgist will:
  • Lead the owner’s development team 
  • Supervise metallurgical test programs 
  • Evaluate, select, and organise the purchase of plant equipment 
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, contracts and construction personnel for construction and commissioning of the process plant 
  • Manage the development of HSE and operator training programs
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
  • University qualifications in metallurgy or process engineering (bachelor’s degree or above)
  • Experience in copper flotation
  • Significant experience in leading the design, commissioning and operation of large-scale base metal process plants ($1bn+, 15mtpa+, flotation preferred)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
The role will initially be based residentially in Perth and will transfer to site on a FIFO roster in 2013. A competitive salary package is on offer for the right candidate.
