Team Coordinator – Strategic Planning

Our Client a world class base metal mine in the Australasian region, currently seeks an experienced Mining Engineer for the Team Coordinator – Strategic Planning role in their Planning and Technical Services team. Reporting to the Manager Mine Planning Services, this role will be responsible for medium and life of mine planning for the open pit and underground mines.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of safe and efficient medium term and LOM open pit & underground design & production plans. 
• Ensure designs incorporate geotechnical & operational constraints. 
• Ensure designs incorporate environmental & rehabilitation constraints of current mine closure plans. 
• Monitor plans and forecasts against actual production 
• Ensuring staff safety, development, localisation and succession of roles. 

Applicants should have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a comparable discipline. 
• A minimum of 10 years experience in open pit and underground mine design & production planning. 
• Demonstrated skills in supervising a team of mining professionals. 
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment; 
• Previous experience working in a multi-cultural environment is desirable. 

This is a residential role with married/single accommodation provided, 7 weeks annual leave & airfares to point of hire. A competitive salary is on offer.
