Drafter

Responsibilities

• Engineering Technology or related technical Degree of at least 2 years. Experience in heavy fabrication and machine shop environment are a plus.

Qualifications

• Review machine documentation, purchase order and contracts prior to machine design/layout Producing drawings in Inventor or MicroStation 3D to meet requirements and [Company] standards.
• Coordinate creation of drawings with Engineers and Designers.
• Create drawings (in support of machine projects). Coordinate drawing and BOM needs with assigned project leader.
• Check all drawings for machine (except checking of those drawn by self). Make sure drawing matches layout and meets current drafting standards.
• Prepare and/or check documentation for machine: Contract Review, Drawing List, Machine Final Specifications, Paint Specifications, Pre-issue Checklist, Manual for shop.
• Review machine package with Engineers and representatives from Fabrication Dept. and Assembly Dept.
• Review machine design with Engineers and/or Sales Dept. as required (not all jobs).
• Review machine design with other Engineering Dept. representatives.
• Make changes to design and/or drawings based on reviews with Fabrication Dept., Assembly Dept., Customer, Sales Dept. and Engineering.
• Assist production personnel in determining causes of non-conforming product.
• Initiate Engineering Changes as required (ECM form), coordinate with team to change drawings as required.
• Check in drawings packages after shop completion of machine. (Review drawings for mark-ups and determine if changes are required, initiate ECM to make changes.
• Check machine design/drawings of other jobs in Engineering Dept. (as assigned).
