- The Northwest District conducts its operations primarily through [Company] a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation. We are based in Vancouver, Washington, working on heavy civil projects up and down the West Coast in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii. Our diverse mix of projects includes airport runways, mine development, earth-fill and concrete dams, breakwaters and jetties, utilities and infrastructure, and asphalt and concrete paving.
Responsibilities
- Currently we are seeking individuals interested in a long term career with the company. Individuals would be responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures as well as conduct training, new hire orientation, and safety meetings. This position is responsible for monitoring all heavy industrial construction work for compliance with safety requirements. Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements are required. Certification as a Safety Professional ( CSP,ASP,RSP, CHST or Emergency Medical Technician) is not required, but is a plus for this position. Experience working with the Army Corps of Engineers is also a plus. Safety Supervisors must have the ability to carry out duties in varying work environments and with a variety of union trades.
Qualifications
- College graduate with a degree in Safety and Health or 2 years minimum of safety management experience.
- OSHA 10/30 hour training.
- Possess a strong work ethic, good interpersonal skills, and demonstrate good organizational and communications skills.
- The ability to carry out duties in varying environments including wide ranging weather conditions.
- The ability to travel and relocate is required. Please note, at the conclusion of this job you will be relocated.
- Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements is a must. Certification with a professional safety organization or Emergency Medical Technician is also desired.
- Candidates must be able to act independently with little or no supervision and as a team player.
- Must be able to use basic Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, and Outlook).
