Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Welder Trade Certification, Welder Red Seal Endorsement
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Major Work Area: Maintenance/repair, New fabrication
Area of Specialization: Machinery or equipment repair
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Interpret welding process specifications, Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, Operate hoisting and lifting equipment, Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods
