Principal Mining Engineer

Role details:

An internationally known company that employs leading specialists in each field of science and engineering is looking for a mining engineer to join their team.

Qualification and experience:

• BSc (Mining Engineering)
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (preferable)
• Pr Eng
• A minimum of 10 years post-graduation
• On mine experience to at least middle management level.
• Exposure to engineering study work.
• Participation in Life of Mine Planning process
• Proficiency in mining software packages (e.g. GEMS, Whittle, Datamine, Mine 2 4D) is preferable.
• Roles and responsibility:
• Managing and organising a multi-disciplined team to conduct Due Diligence, Concept, Pre-feasibility and Feasibility Studies;
• Communication and liaison with clients to ensure project alignment with client expectations;
• Leading and organising technical teams in carrying out these studies, including site visits to mines and projects worldwide;
• Compiling, with the aid of others, proposals and technical reports;
• Controlling project performance through budgeting, invoicing and monthly project status reports;
• Maintaining current clients and expanding client network through personal contacts;
• Compiling, with the aid of a multi-discipline team, Competent Person and Competent Valuator Reports.
